New to Zen?

Everyone is welcome. Zen is very easy to learn. Ocean Light Zen Center shares meditation practice each Sunday at the Four Aims Yoga Studio in West Seattle and downtown on Wednesday nights.

If you have never been to Zen practice before, no problem - just show up! It will take only about 15 minutes to show you the basics and answer some questions. The best way to understand what Zen can do for you is to try it, so off we go...

You can RSVP for practice if you like, stay informed about practice times and events at our Online Sangha at meetup.com Joining is free, there is no spam, and you will always be informed about our group's activities.

Things You Learn In Your First Visit

Body - Sitting comfortably with good posture to promote awareness

Breath Technique - Deep, full breathing to promote a clear mind and a healthy body

Simple Mantra - To cultivate concentration, mindfulness, and compassion

Direction - Why practice Zen?  How can Zen help you and help our suffering world?

A Zen Challenge

Moment to moment, truth appears.  Can you see it?  Do you hear it?  Can you smell it?  Taste it?  Touch it?  Do you understand it?

In each moment, when truth appears, there is a situation, a relationship and a correct function.  How will you respond?

Wake up!  Respond with great love and great compassion.
